Job Description:
The Borough of Red Bank is seeking a dedicated and skilled Water and Wastewater Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment, water distribution, and wastewater collection systems, as well as assisting with other public works operations as needed. The hourly salary range is $22.08 to $32.75, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, adjust, regulate, repair, and maintain electric motors, pumps, valves, and other electrical/mechanical equipment in water treatment and distribution systems.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to water and wastewater operations.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Respond to service calls and emergencies related to water and wastewater operations.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on system performance and maintenance activities.
- Assist with other public works tasks as directed.
Requirements:
- Required:
- A valid New Jersey Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Air Brake (required within one year of hire).
- An N endorsement for Tanker operation (required within one year of hire).
- At least one (1) year of experience operating, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining equipment used in water treatment plants, pumping stations, or filtration plants.
- Preferred (Required within two years of hire):
- T-1 Public Water Treatment System Operator’s License
- W-1 Public Water Distribution System Operator’s License
- C-1 Public Wastewater Collection System Operator’s License
(All licenses must be issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.)
